Why I’ll Never Rush You Into Buying a Home

“I only push when I feel it in my gut, this is the one.”
That’s a line I say often. Because in real estate, especially here in San Mateo County, timing is everything. But more important than timing… is intuition, patience, and alignment.
I recently helped two amazing clients, Doug and Mason, buy a home was the exact opposite of what they were looking for, but was a perfect match for their long-term vision. We had many conversations about what they wanted “a small fixer on a big lot that we can take down to the studs and make our own…”
We searched for over a year to find it, and I was with them every step of the way; not rushing, not nudging, just guiding.
After touring a home that checked all their boxes on paper but still didn’t feel quite right, my clients looked at me and apologized for “wasting my time.” I smiled and reminded them, “I’m here for the long run. When we find it, we’ll know it. I believe it’s out there, we just haven’t seen it yet.”
On my way home, I texted a colleague with their wishlist and asked if he had anything in the pipeline. Not long after, I found myself driving past a property that I instantly knew could be their future.
Here’s the kicker, it wasn’t old, it wasn’t small, and it definitely wasn’t a fixer. But it was in their dream neighborhood. It was built to the size and finishes they wanted. And it was on a huge lot, perfect for their kids and backyard entertaining. It was kismet.
By the next morning, we toured the property, submitted an offer, and got it ratified. It happened fast, and we knew we had to act quickly, because in just two days, that home would’ve hit the market and brought in multiple offers. We moved first, and it made all the difference.
The reason I love this story is because it truly demonstrates how I feel. I’m Not in the Business of Selling Homes. I’m in the business of matchmaking people with places that support their lives.
I’ve built this business around:
Trust that grows over time
Knowing when to say not yet
Being honest when something looks good but doesn’t feel right
Understanding my clients’ goals better than a listing photo ever could
Real estate isn’t just about price per square foot.
It’s about patience, people, and purpose.
Some clients come to me thinking they want a modern 3-bed/2-bath, and end up falling in love with a mid-century fixer tucked on a quiet cul-de-sac. Others want off-market privacy or are simply waiting for that lot.
I don’t push because I’m not playing the short game. I’m here to help you:
Build a future
Create roots
And feel at peace the moment you unlock the front door
How This Helps You Win
San Mateo County is a relationship-driven market. You can’t always compete on price, but you can win with:
Great timing
The right offer structure
Understanding what motivates the seller
A Realtor who knows where to look, and when to act
That’s the edge I bring.
If You’re Looking for “The One”
Whether you’re buying next month or next year, I’d love to help you think through what “the right one” actually means for you. Because this process? It’s not a race. It’s a match. Let’s connect when you’re ready.
