I’m usually drawn to pretty neutral spaces, but every once in a while I walk into a room that reminds me how much fun color can be.
And this office was FUN.
The orange SMEG refrigerator immediately caught my attention, but what made me save this room wasn’t just the fridge. It was how everything worked together.

There’s orange, pink, brass, graphic art and a colorful rug happening here, but somehow the room doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard.
I think that’s because the room knows exactly what the star is.
Actually, it has a few of them.
The colorful pieces are surrounded by plenty of white and cream, which gives your eye somewhere to rest. And instead of introducing a million different colors, the room keeps coming back to the same warm pinks and oranges.
That’s the idea I really wanted to steal from this space.
You don’t need color everywhere. You need color somewhere.
So instead of trying to recreate every single thing, I went looking for pieces that capture the feeling of this room: pink, orange, brass, playful art and a few quieter pieces to balance everything out.
I found seven Amazon pieces that I think could get you surprisingly close.
01
The Pink Fridge
Saeoola 3.1 Cu.Ft Mini Fridge with Freezer for Dorm, Single Door, Pink
The orange SMEG was one of the first things I noticed in the original office. It was unexpected, playful and basically acted like another piece of decor. (NOTE: I included the Amazon link to the fridge, but it's a little spendy, so I wanted to provide a more budget-friendly option.)
For my version, I went pink.
I love that it gives us that same unexpected pop of color at a much more approachable price point, while leaning even further into the pink-and-orange palette that made this room so fun in the first place.
And this is probably my favorite idea to steal from the original space: one functional piece can also be the thing that gives a room its personality.
02
Let the Rug Set the Palette
8x10 Washable Area Rugs Blossom Pink with Vintage Orient Design
If I were recreating this room from scratch, the rug is probably where I would start.
A colorful rug gives you a palette to work from without requiring everything else in the room to match perfectly.
Pull out two or three colors you love, repeat them in smaller ways around the room, and suddenly all of those individual pieces start to feel connected.
I liked this one because the pink gives us the same playful energy as the inspiration room, while the vintage-style pattern keeps it feeling collected rather than overly sweet.
03
Add Art That Doesn't Take Itself Too Seriously
Yayoi Kusama Orange Poster + Orange and Pink Wall Art
The artwork was another reason this office felt so different from a typical workspace.
Nothing about it felt corporate or overly coordinated. It felt like someone actually picked things they liked.
I found a few pieces that could create that same feeling, including an orange Yayoi Kusama poster and an orange-and-pink abstract print.
And then I found angel numbers and palm trees wearing sunglasses because apparently this office has given us permission to have a little fun. 😂
Not everything hanging on your wall needs a complicated design reason.
Sometimes you should buy the thing because it makes you smile.
04
Bring In A Little Brass
Garwarm Gold Sputnik Chandelier, 8-Light Semi Flush Mount Ceiling Light
With this much color in a room, it would be easy to keep adding more.
I actually think the brass is what helps everything feel a little more polished.
The original office used warm metallic details alongside all of the playful pink and orange, so I looked for a ceiling light that could bring that same warmth into the room.
I also love the idea of making something functional part of the design. You already need a light fixture. It might as well be pretty.
05
Repeat The Color In Small Ways
10-Piece Orange + Gradient Pink Artificial Flowers for Vase
One thing this room does really well is repeat the same colors without making everything match.
The flowers are such an easy example.
They bring the orange and pink back into another part of the room without adding another major piece of furniture or another pattern.
I found these because they give you that same little pop of color, and I’d put them in a very simple clear or white vase and let the flowers do the work.
06
Give All That Color Somwhere To Land
SUPERJARE White and Gold Vanity/Computer Desk
This is where the smaller details start doing some of the work.
Once you have the colorful rug, pink fridge, artwork and flowers, you really don’t need the desk competing for attention.
That’s why I like this white-and-gold one.
The white gives your eye somewhere to rest, while the gold connects back to the brass details happening elsewhere in the room.
It’s a good example of why every piece in a colorful room doesn’t need to be colorful.
Sometimes the quieter pieces are exactly what make the bold ones work.
07
Finish With Something Soft
VINGLI Comfy Fuzzy Vanity Chair
I would keep the chair neutral too.
There’s already plenty of personality happening around it, so instead of adding another color or pattern, I’d add texture.
I liked this cream chair because it gives us that softer layer while still feeling interesting enough to belong in the room.
That balance is really the secret to this entire space.
Some pieces get to be loud.
Some pieces get to be quiet.
And when you get the mix right, you can use a surprising amount of color without the room feeling chaotic.

Orange and Pink Office Ideas to Steal From This Room
The thing I love most about this office isn’t actually the orange SMEG.
Although, obviously, I love the orange SMEG.
It’s the permission to stop treating every room in the house so seriously.
You can have the white desk.
You can have the cream chair.
And then you can put a pink refrigerator next to them.
Pick a palette. Repeat it a few times. Let the rest of the room calm down.
You don’t have to recreate the whole room either.
Maybe you steal the rug.
Maybe you add a piece of art you wouldn’t normally choose.
Maybe your home office suddenly needs a pink refrigerator.
Take the idea you love and make it work in your house.
REALTOR APPROVED
I tour homes for a living, and every once in a while I walk into a room that gives me an idea worth stealing.
That’s REALTOR APPROVED.
I break down what caught my attention, why I think the room works and find pieces that can help you get the look.
And yes, technically I’m supposed to be looking at the real estate.
But when a room has this much personality, I’m absolutely stopping to take notes. 😂
